After all the outrage and ridicule surrounding the now-removed Pepsi ad in which Kendall Jenner graces a cop overseeing a protest rally/pageant with an ice cold, thirst-quenching soda, it’s easy to forget that someone genuinely thought this was a good idea and spent a lot of money to execute it.

Last night’s Louis C.K.-hosted SNL featured Beck Bennett as the commercial’s beleaguered director, bouncing the concept of family, friends, and, finally, a black neighbor—far too late to do anything about it but run for his life.
